Project Bliss came from our passion to share our love of music and movement as a route to feeling a deeper connection with ourselves and the world around us.

Through music, guided meditation and free movement we can journey to a state of bliss, all we have to do is arrive with an openness and allow ourselves to let go. Easier said than done sometimes but this session has been created in a way to enable you to feel safe, secure and most of all welcome.

Project Bliss currently offers 2 types of classes: Bliss Yoga and Bliss Dance. Classes will be redesigned each month around a new theme with music and movement tailored to that theme. You are invited to book into single classes, however, in some cases you will see an option to book a double session at a discounted rate (a 60 minute yoga session, followed by a 75 minute dance session with a 30 break in between).

Our home base is the main hall at Summerhall’s stunning main hall, in Edinburgh, however some events may be held in other Edinburgh venues, so please check your booking to make sure you come to the right place. We hope to be able to run pop-up Bliss events in open spaces over the summer when the weather allows, and Project Bliss is also available for private and corporate bookings (please ask for details).

Bliss YOGA (single session): Immerse yourself in a unique and soulful yoga experience. Move with music, your own breath, and the energy of your spirit as we guide you through a Yoga flow with a difference.

Details: Arrive around 1pm for 1.30 start - 3pm. 60 minutes of yoga flow, however, we ask participants to arrive at 1pm to use the cloakroom, familiarise themselves with their headset and settle into the space before the class begins.

What to expect: The sequence will be taught in a way that allows you to learn the sequence and build confidence in your own expression of the flow. As the flow builds, we begin to move as one energy together whilst also fully immersing yourself within your own inner experience. The layout of the room and the low lighting, combined with the musical journey and live instruction through your headset will help you lose yourself in the beauty of your own movement.

Previous experience: Whilst the yoga poses won’t be particularly advanced or physically difficult, some familiarity with Vinyasa Yoga poses is preferred, so that you can get the most from your immersive experience. As always, we urge you to work with what feels right for you on the day and take care of yourself - please modify your movement and rest as much as you need to. Please speak to a member of the team if you have any questions.

What to bring: Yoga mats are provided. Cushions and blankets are also available. You are welcome to use your own mat if you prefer, but there will always be a mat in the space waiting for you. If you need any bolsters, blocks or special equipment you can bring them, although the flow is designed so that most people won’t need them. Come dressed in comfortable clothes for yoga - bare feet recommended and plenty of water!

Bliss DANCE (single session): Surrender to a truly immersive and liberating movement experience without worry of judgement of how you move or how you look. However you dance will be just right!

Details: 3 - 4.45pm. 75 minutes of dance movement, however, we ask participants to arrive at 3pm to use the cloakroom, familiarise themselves with their headset and settle into the space before the class begins. Participants are also welcomed to remain a while after the class to connect with each other.

What to expect: Be gently guided on a journey through movement that builds and grows from within you - from rest, to dance, then back to rest and reflection. Close your eyes in the low-lit room, hearing music and live narrative only through the bubble of your headset. Discover how you flow in the moment when you are free to dance without inhibition. Connect to yourself, to your body and to the experience however you wish - kitchen dance with reckless abandon, or flow slowly, inwardly - stretching or resting on the floor or on a chair whenever you feel moved to do so.

Previous experience: No dance, meditation or yoga experience is required whatsoever. Sessions are designed to melt away judgement and inhibition and give everybody the confidence and inspiration to do just what feels right for them. Often sessions will include an opportunity to engage in a short exercise with another person or the wider group, but you are equally welcome to remain in your own wee bubble of bliss! We take great care to create an inclusive space where everybody feels equally valued and safe.

What to bring: Mats are not required for the dance session. Cushions and blankets will be provided for resting on the floor, and some chairs will also be available. Please notify a member of the team before the session if you are unable or do not wish to rest on the floor and we will ensure there is sufficient seating for everyone. Come dressed in comfortable clothes such as those you’d wear for yoga - bare feet recommended and plenty of water!

Bliss YOGA + DANCE double session: Immerse yourself in a double Bliss session - yoga, then dance.
Details: 1.30 - 4.45pm. 60 Minutes yoga flow + 75 minutes dance movement. We ask participants to arrive at 1.30pm to use the cloakroom, familiarise themselves with their headset and settle into the space before the class begins. There will be 30 minutes to rest and refresh between the sessions. Participants are also welcomed to remain a while after the class to connect with each other.
